History

The Su CAHSA cooperative is known for its pillars of character, wisdom, knowledge and service that form the foundation of its fundamental principles and beliefs.

As the 2021-2022 Academic school year was ending, it became apparent that a need existed for homeschool families in Clinton, MS and surrounding areas to have access to academic courses. The Lord began to deal with the heart of Dr. Tekla Sanders and gave her the vision to establish a homeschool co- operative. Being led by the Lord, Dr. Sanders shared this vision with Mrs. JeTua Amos who immediately agreed with no objection whatsoever.

A meeting was scheduled at the Beverly J. Brown Library in Terry, MS in March 2021 and plans were set in motion to launch what would become known as Su CAHSA. In the following weeks the two women prayed, partnered and collaborated and a proposal was developed and presented to the Board at Day Spring Community Church in Clinton, MS. While traveling back from Florida, Dr. Sanders received a phone call informing her, approval had been granted for Su CAHSA to hold classes there.

Dr. Tekla Sanders and Mrs. JeTua Amos were certain they wanted to create a unique and personalized learning environment for their students. Ultimately, one that felt like home with flexibility, individualized attention, strong family bonds, and a safe and comfortable environment. With this in
mind the name Su CAHSA, “Your Clinton Area Home School Academics” was revealed.

Su CAHSA was formally established on August 8, 2022. For it was this day its doors opened, received God’s “blessings” and His plan came to be. This plan included eight families enrolling twelve students the first year. Su CASHA is more than a place where students come to take academic courses. According to I Corinthians 3:6-8, one plants, another waters, but God gives the increase. We are watering and planting and are confident that our efforts will yield peaceable fruit.
